Out with the old

Well, it's been quite a year.

It actually was an interesting year for us. The latter part of the year has been hard. It's definetly been harding financially. Lee was off work about 8 weeks without pay because of his pilonidal cyst. That hit our pocket book pretty hard.

I am looking forward to 2009. It is 9:30 CST so I better get busy writing those New Year's Resolutions!

I am sitting in the living room staring at the Christmas tree and watching Tinkerbell doodle on her Leapster. Reg will come busting through the door at anytime wondering what is for dinner and if she can open a present. LOL The long day that Christmas Eve is!!

OUR WEEKEND.....AND.....BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

We had a great weekend. We spent today w/ DH's family. We enjoyed a nice dinner and then time visiting and reminiscing. There were gifts for all the kids and Bub was THRILLED that he got a Tonka truck (rather than another attache'). It's freezing cold here tonight and my brain is cold and having trouble thinking. I'm also too cold to upload pics to share. LOL Stay warm blog readers!

#2-I've been busy.

The kids have been keeping me busy. I feel a bit like a put because I haven't posted in my blog in a week but life happens. That's my new motto. Life happens. My #1 Life Motto is "STOP THE BLEEDING". Most of you probably know that about me but if you don't, you do now. In order to avoid turning this blog in to my own soapbox regarding the economy I will end this paragraph now.

It seems like this month has flown by. It was just Thanksgiving and I am down to 8 days until Christmas? Holy cow! The kids have had two snow days in a row and snow days are just exhausting. There is a lot of commotion with all 3 of them at home at the same time. All day long...for two days in a row.....

Here's a little of what I've been up to:

On Saturday, the girls had their Christmas Dance. The proceeds from the dance benefited the local food pantry which is really struggling to keep stocked right now. My girls don't look thrilled in these pics but each one danced well and were happy to be there. I did learn a few things on Saturday. #1-Pack a bag for EACH daughter so each daughter has a bag in her dressing room. If not, she will pout and sulk and feel sad because she cannot change her clothes like the other girls. This looks like this:

#2-Little girls love to get flowers after their dance performance. It somehow makes them feel like they are extra specials. These flowers and gifts should be waiting for them in their dressing room. If not, you get this:

Yes, Ms. M (age 3) was stressed because she didn't have flowers waiting in the dressing room for her! LOL

On Sunday, DH and I made bath balls. We used Eucalyptus Essential Oil. These bad boys are STRONG. I haven't tried them out yet. I've just been using them as air freshners in the kitchen. Here's what they look like, though:

I made fudge a few days ago. Here is my assistant:

He found the jar of marshmallow fluff sitting on the counter. He decided to open it up and try to get out what was left. Isn't he funny??

Tuesday is My Favourite 3 Things blog. Yes, I know today is Wednesday. I am a day behind but since this is my first LIVE blog, I have decided to make it somewhat interesting. Here are my 3 favourite things today: #1


All 3 of my kids have been driving me crazy with their hands in the tree...sunglasses in the tree..ornaments on the floor (not on the tree)..balls in the tree. Regan (finally realizing the threat of me packing up all the ornaments was sincere) decided to make this sign and have me hang in the tree. This was so her sister ( 3) and her brother (1) would not mess with the tree anymore. I think her picture is exceptional and I was impressed that she spelled No Touch by herself.

Awww...Russian Tea Cookies. I think some people also call them Mexican Wedding Something-or-others. They have LONG been my favourite cookie at Christmas. I have MANY memories of sneaking in the cookie container as a child. I was trying not to be detected by my mom but since I mistakenly INHALED the powdered sugar, the choking was a dead giveaway! LOL

These are the beginning of the Christmas baking. I was pregnant at Christmas a few years ago w/ the little Z-Man and I did some MASSIVE baking at Christmas time. The fruits of my labour were enjoyed by my co-workers. LOL I don't think I'll be bad this year. I don't EXPECT to be.

I will admit that this is a stretch but it is late and I have many other things to do. Have you ever played White Elephant gift exchange? I THINK this was the gift I received a few years ago. I thought it was kind of silly but I am finding it to be quite useful. What is it, you ask? It's a power strip hidden inside these cute little snowmen! Cute, huh?

TUESDAY

I had FULL intentions of loading pics of a giveaway (well, the supplies at least). I also had full intentions of sewing some of Mara's quilt tonight. It seems that this notice and the little girl holding it distracted me tonight. LOL Regan's words when she handed it to me were, "I'm having a problem, momma". LOL

I've also been doing a lot of thinking about the ol' blog. I'm about ready to take it live. Awesome and exciting. It will be fun to see who is reading and where they are from and *WHY* they are reading *MY* blog. Also-Thursday will be my Thankful day where I will list at least 3 things that I am thankful for. Tuesday will be my Favourites day where I will list / show at least 3 of my favourite things that day. Some days on the ol' blog may be boring and I may have nothing to blog about. That's ok, though. That's life. I will change things for this week and blog about some of my favourite things tomorrow.

In closing, here is a lesson I learned early on w/ Regan:

Always eat spaghetti on bath night! It makes for fast and easy clean-up.

WHEWWWWWWWWW.....................

I finished Reg's quilt. I'm glad to have it done. Lee ran it to the laundromat today and washed it and dried it. It fluffed up nice. I hope she likes it. I've got Mara's fabric 2/3 cut so I should be cutting by tomorrow night. I'm still pondering taking the ol' blog live. It's not like I have anything good to blog about but it would be fun none-the-less.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I don't have anything monumental to blog about tonight. I'm sleepy as hell. I had to take a muscle relaxer this afternoon because I had a crink in my neck all day long. I was afraid I would end up w/ a migraine if I let it go any longer. The muscle has relaxed but I am sooooooooooooo sleepy now! LOL I need to be working on Reg's Christmas present. I just need to get motivated to do it. Oh, i got a new haircut today. Actually, I got a haircut. It's nothing new and fancy but it sure feels better!!! I'll try to come up with more to blog about tomorrow.

IS IT TIME TO TAKE THE BLOG LIVE

I was inspired by www.sewmamasew.com today. Today was giveaway day and although I didn't list my blog (because no one knows it exsists), I am inspired to create a craft and give it away. I have somehow talked Stacey into doing an ornament exchange w/ me so maybe I could make a duplicate and give it away? I'm going to put some thought on this tonight.

It's time to get back to blogging. Of course, no one knows my blog exsists so it's really not like anyone noticed I wasn't blogging. LOL Of course, I knew I wasn't blogging. I'm sure I'll blog more today.

WHAT'S IN A NAME?

I am trying out a new blog format. I was blogging on myspace and facebook but I didn't like how I couldn't insert the picture right on my blog. I wanted to increase the amount I was blogging and I hope to someday tie it in with my business adventures. The name I selected is RAZZIESPLACE. I had to register that name on www.etsy.com where I hope to SOON be selling some of my things. I thought I better just stick w/ the name across the board so VOILA!, that's the name of my blog.

Just for good measure, here is a pic of RAS-A-PAZ is what I call her. This was taken in October, 2004. She was about 16 months old. We went to the pumkin patch at the south end of town. Isn't she cute????
